Everything Nice is a portrait of my niece whom I’ve painted many times. On this piece I decided to create colorful soft shadows in the folds of her white t-shirt. Taylor is a beautiful young woman inside and out so when “sugar and spice and everything nice” came to mind, I had my title!
Everything Nice was accepted into the 2nd Annual Women in Watercolor International Juried Competition 2021. This competition had 1600 submissions from over 50 countries from the best of the best women watercolor artists. Not only was my painting selected for inclusion into this wonderful show, but I was also notified that Everything Nice received the Finalist Award!
Everything Nice was accepted into Waterworks Unlimited, the 2022 Northwest Watercolor Society Membership Exhibition by Juror Mike Hernandez.
Everything Nice was the 1st Place Winner of Art and Color 365's April 2023 Portraits art competition, which earned a 6 page feature article in the premiere issue of Art and Color 365 Magazine.
