A couple of springs ago, I was excited to see a pair of Northern Cardinals nesting just outside my studio window. Sometimes when I peeked out I would see the female sitting on the nest and other times it was the male taking his turn. After the eggs hatched, I again saw both parents sharing the duties of feeding and caring for the babies in the nest. 

One early morning I opened the blinds to see what the birds were up to and I saw this quivering fledgling being fed by its daddy. I snapped several photos. What a sweet sight! I titled the resulting painting, Best Dad.
