I really enjoyed this article. Signing a watercolor seems like such a small finishing detail, but it can actually make a big difference to the overall presentation of a painting. I especially appreciate the thought that goes into choosing the placement, size and color of a signature without allowing it to compete with the artwork itself.

It’s also interesting to think about the signature as part of the artist’s identity and the painting’s history, rather than simply a name added at the end.
