Last October, a flock of Pine Siskins monopolized our backyard feeders for several days, giving me ample opportunity to take photographs of these rare visitors. In constant motion, these tiny finches are brown and very streaky birds with subtle yellow edgings on wings and tails.
I've been enjoying my experiments with this "jewel" style of painting; I think it is a way for me to play with color and create something fun for the viewer to enjoy. A little party within the painting, if you will.
