Hiking in the Ozarks recently, my friend and I came upon a couple of does grazing in the thicket. Unperturbed, this one glanced back at us as I quickly snapped a photo with my cell phone. The photograph was cluttered with twigs and branches with little color variation. My "jewel" technique allows the deer to shine in the midst of the suggested thicket.
