I let the painting rest, usually until the next day. Some bits of masking fluid are removed from the fur highlights before I begin reinforcing areas on the face, down Truman's right side and front leg, warming the sun struck areas and cooling the shadow areas. I'm not ready to deal with his left front leg, so I add color to his body, reserving the sunlit areas. I add some lines to the floor and take a break.
